The PhD project explores collaboration between museums and creative media industries in the processes of developing concepts for digital communication technology that support museum experiences in innovative ways.
The theme is investigated on two levels: A macro level focusing on how different forms of collaboration are established and developed and a micro level focusing on how collaboration more concretely outplays in the creative processes of developing ideas and concepts for digital communication technology.
By means of ethnographic, longitudinal case studies of three quite dissimilar processes, the research aims to create insights into challenges and potentials of such collaborations across diverging organisational, thematic and ideological aspects.
