Digital science literacy using social and mobile media in a science center learning context

The main objective of this project is to specify and document digital science literacy in order to advance our understanding of ways in which social and mobile media may facilitate young learners’ creative science learning. In empirical terms, the project is based on studies carried out at the science centre Experimentarium in Copenhagen, more specifically the use of handheld learning devices to be developed for the permanent energy exhibition. In methodological terms, the project will apply ethnological and design based research methods in order to co-develop digital content and study its uptake and appropriation by young visitors to the energy exhibition.
